Electronic Tools and Forms to Automate Consent Processes

September 2022 – February 2023

Development of a set of tools and electronic consent forms to automate data sharing consent processes at DS@HR

This project, in collaboration with DSAHR and Nomomente Institute, consists of developing a set of tools and electronic consent forms to foster monitoring and research adapted for projects involving multiple partners in the animal health sector. These tools primarily aim to optimize the steps of the consent process by using technical tools to : (1) present the reasons and conditions for data access; (2) request an authorization to access and use the data; (3) assist veterinarians and their clients in understanding the steps of the consent process; and (4) document the consent provided by requiring an electronic signature on the consent form.

This project was funded in part by CDMV Inc. and through the Ministerial Initiative on Agri-Food Action/Prevention, under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, an agreement between the governments of Canada and Québec (https://www.mapaq.gouv.qc.ca/fr/Productions/md/programmesliste/santeanimale/Pages/Initiative-ministerielle-action-prevention-agroalimentaire.aspx).

Data Sharing Consent Process – Ethical legal opinions

August – December 2022

Draft ethical legal opinions for the implementation of a data sharing consent process according to current best practices

During a first project with the Nomomente Institute and fully funded by FASA powered by CDMV Inc. we have received ethico-legal recommendations based on best practices on data sharing to develop and implement consent processes and consent forms that can facilitate data access in the Quebec context. These recommendations could be used by FASA partners and developers of technological tools in animal health. This project was carried out with the collaboration of DS@HR
