Dr Luc DesCôteaux, retired m.v., has been in the service of teaching, research, continuing education of practicing veterinarians in bovine practice, an administrator within the Vet teaching hospital (CHUV) and the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire (FMV) de l’Université de Montréal and a bovine practitioner in preventive medicine for dairy cattle for 35 years. The knowledge and skills he was able to acquire during his teaching career as well as within FMV's partner organizations, his great ability to solve problems, his expertise in managing research projects in animal health and welfare and more recently as Director of the feasibility study on the implementation of a monitoring system for the use of multispecies antibiotics in the animal health sector in Quebec are assets that will enable him to fulfill his responsibilities as FASA coordinator.

Dr. DesCôteaux assume the administrative management of the FASA, the management of financing activities and funded projects, the management of partnership requests, the establishment of a governance structure including the formation of ad hoc committees, while ensuring their support, in addition to taking care of training and representative activities and project launches
