Official Partner of the Stratégie québécoise de santé et de bien-être des animaux (SQSBEA)
FASA has joined the SQSBEA (“Quebec Strategy for Animal Health and Welfare”), led by MAPAQ, as its 95th official partner.
The mission of the Strategy is to improve animal health and welfare in Quebec. It comes to life through the actions and efforts of numerous partners across the province. It relies on collaboration, as well as prevention and detection, to achieve its objectives.
This strategy aims to promote the adoption of farming practices that balance the expectations of the public with the requirements of the agri-food industry, particularly in terms of animal welfare and economic considerations.
The objectives are as follows:
- To better understand the importance of animal health and welfare;
- To optimize decision-making following disease detection;
- To improve herd health and welfare through disease prevention and management;
- To adopt farming practices that sustainably enhance animal health and welfare.
In collaboration with MAPAQ, FASA has already supported the development of several practical tools to strengthen the advisory services of AMVPQ veterinarians.
