Executive Director

Dr. Luc DesCôteaux, DVM (retired), devoted his career to teaching, research and continuing education for veterinarians in bovine practice. He also served as an administrator within the CHUV and the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire (FMV), in addition to practising for 35 years in preventive medicine for dairy cattle. The knowledge and skills he acquired over the course of his academic career and his collaborations with the FMV’s partner organizations, his strong capacity for adaptation and problem-solving, and his expertise in managing large-scale animal-health and welfare projects — notably as director of a feasibility study on setting up a multi-species antibiotic-use monitoring system in Quebec — are major assets in carrying out his duties as Executive Director of the FASA Foundation.

In this capacity, Dr. DesCôteaux provides the Foundation’s general management, including administrative management, the development and coordination of fundraising activities, the oversight of supported projects, partnership management, and the establishment of an effective governance structure. He also contributes to launching structuring projects and to organizing training activities carried out in partnership.
